Frank Anobile Biography,
Frankie Anobile is legendary in Las Vegas for more then 20 years as the nightlife pioneer. His resume reads like an historical documentation of the city’s nightlife evolution. Presented with the Key to the City in 2000 for his efforts in music and promoting achievements, Frankie has been largely responsible for opening the doors of Las Vegas Strip casinos to venture into nightclub operations. Starting with hotel dance events in the early 80’s, by 1985 Frankie began proposing casino nightclubs at a time when they were still not quite ready to make that step. It was largely due to Frankie’s diligence and his “trial” outdoor nightclub event “Fahrenheit” that the MGM Grand finally dove in with the opening of Studio 54, the first nightclub to open in a casino on the Strip. His lifetime of achievements spans many aspects of entertainment. DJ/ PROMOTER/ PROGRAM DIRECTOR Frankie’s love for music is what garners his unparalleled knowledge and technical abilities, from disco to house and all that falls between. Notable accomplishments include a nomination in 2003 as one of the Top 5 Resident DJ’s of the World at the Club World Awards, as well as numerous awards for Best local DJ. Most Djs working today in Las Vegas have worked with, learned from, or otherwise been inspired by DJ Frankie. Frankie’s roster of DJ talent always employs the most experienced and accredited Djs in the country. In the past he has been responsible for launching the music careers for his understudies, Grammy Award nominees The Crystal Method and Chris Cox of Thunderpuss. He presently feels his current roster is on the way to the same success. Throughout his beginning years as a Promoter, Frankie brought previously unknown groups to Las Vegas, such as Run DMC, The Beastie Boys and many others. He also co-produced the first-ever legalized outdoor rave “Desert Move”, said to have induced Las Vegas nightlife’s electronica movement. More recently he has been responsible for the premiere performances of Darude, Oscar G and Robbie Rivera in our city. NIGHTCLUB OPERATOR Frankie sets trends in Las Vegas nightlife by continuously bringing new ideas to the table. His expertise has greatly influenced the MGM Grand and other Las Vegas corporations to capitalize on his techniques to create their own success. Introducing many concepts, such as radio mix shows and live radio broadcasts from the club, multi-music venues under one roof, live club performances by top groups, as well as owning and operating Vegas’ first ever house music nightclub, 2655. MUSIC PRODUCER Frankie began remixing and producing music for noted labels such as Warner Brothers (Maverick), “Cleopatra” which peaked at number 26 on the Billboard charts in 1998; Motown, “Shades” which was the first house remix for Motown in 1997; Profile Records, The Freeze LP in 1992, Island Records, “Summer Girls” remix for Dino in 1989; and Macola Records, “Defcon” electro hit in 1986. Additionally his music credits include Las Vegas production shows such as Show Stoppers (The Desert inn), Men in Motion (MGM/ Bally’s), and Splash (The Riviera). The past nine years have found Frankie lending his expertise to the MGM Grand while building two of the most successful nightclubs in America, Studio 54 and Tabu Ultra Lounge. Frankie is convinced that entertainment will always be his life’s passion.
